Eckhart Tolle reads on 7 cd's his own book. Being able to listen to it, on the way to work, with a friend or partner is great. The fact that the author reads the book himself adds to a feeling of authenticity.
His book is powerful because Tolle keeps his message simple and approachable (often through Questions and Answer sections). He explains the significance of the now, and by repeating the concepts regularly, it's easy to get a feel for them. People who have read more spiritual works will recognise universal themes. His message is not "orginal" as such, but powerful in the way he approaches it.
