– Customer review on 17/06/2006 I have to say I found Alan Carr slightly derogatory, but that is not to say he hasn't written a clear, useful, practical and simple book about quiting smoking. Somehow, he manages to make it sound easy, and when you understand why after reading the book, it really does seem that easy. Needless to say, when it comes to actually quitting and putting it all into action, that kind of goes out the window. I feel that Carr has forgotten that smoking is a physical addiction too and seems to be saying here that it is simply a matter of changing the way we think and we'll be fine! This is all well and good if you are truly ready to rid your life of ciggarettes, and this book will be quite helpful for you. But if you're not ready, you're not ready. Fortunately this book tries to help you become ready, but like I said, I feel as though the author is talking down to me, like one of those really bad preachy reformed smokers. It didn't make me feel empowered, rather more rebelious and determined to smoke because of this. Oh, and no, I didn't quit smoking. Give it a go, it may be what you need, but it really doesn't offer anything new, well, to me anyway. Good Luck...
