– Customer review on 17/06/2006 This is a book I just keep using over and over again, it's been so helpful. I've always written in a journal/diary, but this book really supplied me with some wonderful, different ways of doing that, and not always using words. Very art focused, it doesn't matter how good or bad you are at drawing or anything artistic, the author emphasises that your journal is for you, no one else and is nonjudgemental. It is scattered with examples of other's work and is organised into easy to understand and follow sections. Each section has a number of exercises to do in your journal, and also explains why the exercise is beneficial and how it can be varied. I learnt so much about myself using this guide and thoroughly recommend it. Just the fact that I keep using it is testament to the usefulness of this book - it didn't just sit on my bookshelf after one read, I keep using it again and again. Exercises include: "How do I feel right now?", "My inner and outer selves", "Self-Inventory", "Nurturing Myself", "Parts of myself", "My life History", "Me and my shadow", "I need...", "I believe...", "Insights and wisdom", "The guide within me", "Rewriting the script", "What do you want to be when you grow up", "Where I'll be in 5 years", "Treasure map", "where I'm going", and many more. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
