– Customer review on 30/09/2008 I've read a bunch of books about mindfulness and meditation and have had periods where I get back into practice and then fall out again For a while there have been some fundamental conflicts in my head about the nature of how such things should fit into day to day life. Up until I got this book I was thinking "yeah, I'll get back into it when I sort out this, and that, and the other". The usual nonsense.
I got the book completely on a whim and so wasn't expecting much, but as it turns out that Kabat-Zinn answered all of the issues that had been troubling me and have re-invigorated my motivation for practicing meditation and mindfulness. I'm always a bit concerned that these sorts of books will be a bit wishy washy, and that they may have been written by some wanna be hippie out to make a quick buck, but thankfully this wasn't the case here. There are some short "chapters" in there that are designed to cover off the various miscellaneous aspects that the author has in his head, but in general it is a well written book with a strong leaning towards the practical and pragmatic side of things.
If you're looking at it and considering whether to buy it, then the answer is YES you should.
