I urge everyone to read this book, from the Prime Minister and envirnoment lobby group to anybody who has only heard the sensationalism views on climate change. This book puts man's impact on climate change into proper perspective with every sentance a fact backed up with referenced material. If you think that CO2 is damaging to the earth rather than its lifeblood, then please read this book before we all agree to spending billions of taxpayers dollars on the mistaken belief that we can halt the natural forces of climate change. I have heard Professor Plimer speak at functions, he is committed and compelling in presenting the scientific facts on climate change and global warming. You think the globe is warming? - read this book and find out the real facts. This book is an excellent presentation of the scientific facts, compelling reading for those who really want to know about climate change and the bible for global warming skeptics. I couldn't put the book down, others who prefer the sensationlism to the facts will find it a difficult read. Thank you Professor Plimer for being prepared to stand up for the counter argument and present facts with research.

Not only a throughly interesting read but because it is based on historical facts, this book by Profesor Pilmer must enlighten even the most avid believer in global warming. The scientific facts, so simply explained in this book, made me realize how they have been either used or abused or even ignored by the hysterical clarions of doom, the climate-change/global warming aficionados. Every politician has a duty-of-care to expose themselves to information such as this before throwing their precious votes around to put a price on man-made CO2 that is wrongly blamed for global warming and climate change. We should all become better informed about this important topic so please read this book. Thank you Professor Plimer; you should be recognised as our next Australian of the Year for your work.

This book is filled with references. There is endless research waiting for anyone who wants to check the veracity of Plimer's work. An enormous effort has gone into collecting all of this scientific knowledge from widely separated fields of study and making it accessible in these pages. I can't imagine how anyone could read this and not be utterly absorbed. If you have a genuine interest in the science (not settled) of earth's climate, you must read this book.

I love this book, it is a breath of fresh air. I read a bit each night. The footnotes alone are a masterpiece. It debunks the commonly held view that man-made CO2 emissions are raising the temperature of Earth. The book is a comprehensive history of Mother Earth showing that we are cycling climate for many reasons, the least of which is man-made since industrialisation. If you are interested in the weather, in the sea, in volcanos, in ice, in rock and animal life this book is masterful, and interesting for the lay person. After many chapters of properly impartial scientific research Prof Plimer reserves the final chapter for his opinion on the global eco-politics movement - can't wait to read that!

Had a bit of a look. Has obviously been written for a non-scientific audience who have already made their minds up that climate change is a lie and just want to find evidence that backs up their pre-conceived views. So many half-truths it is unbelievable. He writes all carbon rises in the atmosphere of as 'natural' but never actually bothers to tell us how much carbon is rising by in the atmosphere - its rising by 15 gigatons. That means that 15 gigatons of carbon is not being absorbed by the ocean or vegetation. How much does humanity emit? 26 gigatons. So nature is only able to absorb 40% of what we produce.

Interesting read - more for the enquiring mind than the mind ruled by dogma, mysticism, or belief systems (including either the media or a politician flogging something). The confusion of peer review is often used as an argument against the free mind; remember Galileo, Semmelweis, and Pasteur among the countless many who were rejected by their peers. Plimer may not be in their league but give him air time, listen, research, make up your own mind. Only time will tell if man has affected global warming to a greater or lesser extent than the normal activity of this planet in doing its own thing. Probably be more productive to plan for an inevitable change than to try and reverse the irreversible......A great read to add to the personal knowledge set - sure there may be mistakes - but at least your in a better position to be aware and make sound personal judgements based on something other than what other folks tell you to think.

This book is certainly able to start the debate, and as such performs a critically important role for our small population whose government is for reasons of their own, intent on encumbering the nation with a scheme based on their poor understanding of science. I was not far into the book when I had a look at the views of some of the author's critics who appeared quite plausible in interviews. However, when confronted by these contrary viewpoints, Dr. Plimer was easily able to counter them with fully detailed information, off the cuff, which did much to confirm his credibility.
Read the book, listen to the critics, and decide who is telling the full truth!
This is quite possibly the most important book of our times.

Very technical but should be understood by reasonable educated people.
Not for everyone but it is a must for those that seek the truth rather than accept agenda's pushed by monetary or political motivated people.
The plastic spine is too hard and can be damaged when bending the book open open. The paper quality and print is excellent.

A masterly demolition of the new religion which has taken over where Scientology left off...a best seller and deservedly so.
