John Heinerman is a medical anthropologist whose research has taken him all round the world to over twenty different countries. Much of his work has been in the field, working with folk healers as well as doctors and top scientists from many different cultures. Author of over two dozen books and hundreds of articles in the areas of folk medicine, herbs and nutrition, he has presented scientific papers at symposia held in such diverse places as Indonesia, Spain and China. He has served as contributing editor of The Herbalist magazine and editor of The herb Report for a total of nearly seven years. Widely known for his lectures throughout North America, he has also served as a consultant to the health food and herb industries.
