While it's true that you can look up dozens of books on the Middle Ages from which you can get all of the information you need to put on a great Medieval syle event, it's so much work! How nice it was to pick up this book and find that someone had doen all the work for me! Recipes, patterns, manners, decorations the lot!

This book has plenty of information. The section on clothing was good and I was able to make clothing from the pattern/drawing provided. Lots of recipes too.

This is a great book for the medieval novice
or someone who is putting on a medieval event who
doesnt want to do a lot of research the dance section of the book
is impressive as is the explanation of how to serve a medieval feast
and the recipies included are pretty good
Care needs to be taken when constructing the costumes however and a
little creative stiching is needed for fitting in places or alternatively make the outfit a little on the big side and use a rope belt to help shape
all in all a good book for most people
However I wouldnt really reccomend this for a medieval re-enactor unless they are just starting out and havent got someone with experience to guide them.
