I remember reading this book many years back, before seeing the HBO series, and enjoying it a lot. Then I watched the HBO series, which I loved, and reread this book - and enjoyed it even more. While I've found some other works from Stephen Ambrose to be a bit heavy with the patriotic assertions that the American GI was the best soldier of the war, this didn't come across the same way in Band of Brothers, probably because it was about this specific elite unit.

Very good read and a great tv series to go with the band of the brother book. It is a very moving story about a group of soilders trying to make their way to germany to defeat the german army in world war 2. Has got a lot of action in this story and gets you thinking about how hard soilders had it while in world war 2.
