Science fiction for people who don't like science fiction...
The Host is Stephanie Meyers first adult novel, and you won't be able to put it down whether you're a newcomer or a dedicated Twilight fan. It tells the story of an unbelievable love triangle (or square...) in the midst of an 'alien' invasion. The Host is an amazing book and I was absolutely enthralled from beginning to end.

Oh.My.Gosh - like many others who have read this, I just couldn't put it down!!! I admit, I purchased this because I was having Twilight 'withdrawls' (lol) but now realise this book deserves a whole lot more than a Twilight comparison. I won't say anything about the actual storyline, because I'd hate to spoil it for anyone reading this review who hasn't read the book yet. Of the five books Stephenie Meyer has written, The Host is by far thee best... Captivating from the beginning right to the very end... I can't wait to see what Stephanie thinks of next - loved it!!!

Having read and loved the twilight series, i wanted to see how Stephanie Meyer wrote for an adult audience. I admit that at first I was still caught up in Forks- but as the story progressed I became more interested. I actualy read the book twice to do it justice on the second read. It is a great book with interesting characters and I really enjoyed the concept. This is a great intro for people who wouldn't ordinarily read a "science fiction" book. That part of the book is unimportant. It is the interaction between the characters that is the main focus.

Really brillian book. The ending however bugged me the first time I read it but after re-reading I began to see how clever it really was. The two heros seem to be a split of Edward from twilight but are far more realistic. I would have loved to have read more dialogue from Melanie. A truly believable sci-fi told in a way that is easy to relate to. Once again the characters were developed to an amazing extent that they felt almost real. A great plot also and an original idea. It might even be comparable to the twilight saga

While this book is a science fiction book, Stephenie Meyer makes is feel more human and less like the story is about an alien.
I loved this book far more than the Twilight series, but in true Stephenie Meyer fashion an odd love square develops but this time only three bodies are involved.

this book was very good.
of course, it cannot be compared to the twilight saga however, this book is absolutely fantastic. It is for an older age group unlike twilight, and is more difficult to read and understand at the beginning but once u get used to it is amazingf. It tells a story of an intruiging love triangle/square and hatred of many others. You feel for every character. This book will play with your emotions and make u cry. It is a book that you will never be able to put down.

If you enjoyed the Twilight Series by Stephenie Meyer (Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse) you will LOVE the Host. It is intended for an older audience, and the plot is more complicated than the teen-hit Twilight.
There are so many things I could comment on, fabulous characters, intriguing plot, fantastic writing full stop.
The Host has become my favourite book and I am so glad I bought it.

The story started out a bit slow but as i got into it i couldn't put it down. Loved Ian and Wanderer getting together but not sure about the choice of body in the end, thought the same as Wanderer that she should be athletic but lets see where the story takes us in the next book.
