Caught between three feuding worlds, it's starting to feel as though she'll never be entirely at peace again. When another betrayal puts the lovers in mortal danger once more, they realise that all they truly have is one another. But with the secret of Bianca's birth taking hold, not even Lucas can help her win her toughest fight.

Gr 9 Up-Bianca, a vampire, and Lucas, a vampire hunter, are on the run with Lucas's mother's cell of the Black Cross vampire hunters. Bianca emails her parents, leading Mrs. Bethany and the other vampires straight to her, but she refuses to go back to Evernight Academy. When a fellow student and Black Cross refugee discovers Bianca drinking from a blood bag, Lucas and Bianca have to run away again. Now they are hunted by vampires and humans as well as the ghosts that plague Bianca's dreams. When she becomes ill, her friends try to help her to no avail, and she turns into a wraith. Lucas rushes headlong into battle with Charity, a rogue vampire, and is turned into a vampire before Bianca can reach him. There is a lot of action in this volume and more unresolved problems at the end, leaving readers anticipating the next book. This is a great series for teens wanting more content than Ellen Schreiber's "Vampire Kisses" (HarperCollins) but less length than Stephenie Meyer's "Twilight" (Little, Brown). It is comparable to Richelle Mead's "Vampire Academy" series (Penguin).-Corinda J. Humphrey, Los Angeles Public Library Copyright 2010 Reed Business Information.

I didn't much like the first two books, they were intriguing enough to make me continue reading the series. However after coming back to it on Hourglass's release I really enjoyed this book. Be prepared to be ripping your hair out at the ending as it is very very frustrating!! and leaves you feeling very despondant. Cannot wait till the next book releases now.
lucas and Bianca (a vampire hunter + a vampire child) are now on the run from the Evernight vampires, black cross and other unknown forces are also 'hunting' them.
Will Lucas and Bianca ever get to escape there trapped lives and be 'normal' or is life intent on throwing daggers at them one after the other.

Oh GAWD! Could Claudia Gray have been more ruthless with her poor, adoring readers? Me thinks NOT! The ending will, undoubtedly, break your besotted little hearts...But there is always light at the end of the litereary tunnel, right? Its a great read, fast paced when you want it to be and wonderously slow where the romance hitches up. I love the series, i love the characters, but i hated the ending in this book. Basically, its every readers worst fear come to fruition. However, this does set it apart from just about EVERY other YA Supernatural book...Maybe happy endings need to be earned?? Claudia Gray had better amp it up in the Final installation, due out later this year, or I wont be able to sleep at night! ENJOY!

This is the 3rd in the 'Evernight' series. At the end of 'Stargazer' the vampire hunters Black Cross attacked the Evernight Academy seeing Bianca flee with Lucas into the heart of the enemy. Bianca is forced to hide who she really is while struggling with her increasing appetite for blood. But the Black Cross aint the only ones Bianca needs to worry about, there's her teacher Mrs Bettany out for revenge on the Black Cross & the Wraith's who will stop at nothing to claim Bianca for their own. The story moved a little to quickly in parts, it just seemed to jump ahead of description to get to the next scene. Not as good as 'Evernight' but the ending will have you hanging for the next installment.
