– Customer review on 26/08/2008 Sederis is wonderfully funny and fully conversant with his human frailties- whether they manifset as foibles and intolerances or poignant emotional vulnerabilities. He can be archly amusing without losing his compassion- you don't have to feel guilty for liking him and laughing with him. Although he mocks himself, Sedaris is not cringe-making, because he never compromises his intellect and integrity in order to win cheap points or cheap laughs. He is insightful, passionate, humane and entertaining, always demonstrating a clear eye for his fellow humans and an open heart for life- veven when admitting to his own petty moments and neuroses. Beautiful words from a beautiful writer- by turns moving the reader to hilarity, tears and joy in life.
