Mortal affections and faery rivalries continue to collide in the town of Huntsdale, as New York Times bestselling author Melissa Marr takes urban fantasy to new heights. After suffering a terrible trauma at the hands of her brother's dealer friends, Leslie becomes obsessed with the idea of getting a tattoo -- it's the one thing that will allow her to reclaim her body, renew her self-confidence. And when Rabbit, her local tattoo artist, shows her a secret book of his own designs, she finds one of them irresistible. Soon, her back is adorned with a pair of mysterious eyes, framed by black wings. Leslie feels good -- more than good. Nothing bad can touch her. But what she doesn't know is that her new tattoo binds her tightly to the faery whose symbol she chose: Irial, the exquisitely dangerous king of the Dark Court!

About the Author

Melissa Marr was voted in high school the "most likely to end up in jail". Instead, she went to graduate school, worked in a bar, became a teacher and did a lot of writing. Wicked Lovely is her first novel.

"Another highly addictive read...Compulsive enough to give the Twilight series a run for its money, and dizzyingly more sinister." -- Publishers Weekly (starred review)

4 of 5 Stars! – Customer review on 02/08/2011

I quite like the different faerie courts and how this book focuses on the winter and summer courts, it helps to build depth to the story and to better understand the complexities of the faery world and motives.

Book 2 in the Wicked Lovely series - focused on Leslie (Aislinns unsuspecting friend). After suffereing some major traumas in her home life Leslie gets obsessed with getting a tattoo, this leads her to an alluring mysterious tattoo that will be 'one of a kind'. Unbeknon to Leslie this tattoo is a link to the Dark court king. Once she gets her ink complete she gains a link with the dark court fairie king and is thrown into a dark and terrible worls. She lives in a suspended dream , barely noticing what is going on around her. this is the stepping stone for the fairy world and initiates some major changes.

Book 2 in the Wicked Lovely series. this book focus's on one of Aislinns friends (Aislinn was the focus of book 1). This book seems to be seperate from the first book, but really it is not. This book is through the eyes of more 'minor' characters and shows another change that happens in the fairies worls - if you have read the book 1 you will understand what i mean more. This book is about the Dark court and what they get upto. Really great read. Definately recommended.
