Whether you a beginner looking for guidance in how to most effectively familiarise yourself with the cards or you are experienced with tarot and want to hone your intuitive skills, this recently published book has a lot to offer.
First a word to beginners, realise that you are in a privileged position, one that you can never return to once you start reading what others have to say about the cards. Make the most of it by resisting any temptation to read the traditional meanings and work your way through this workbook. And, very importantly, keep notes of all your discoveries, whether in the spaces provided in the workbook or in a separate journal. Your findings will be invaluable to you in the future; and there’s plenty of time later to read other books about the cards’ traditional meanings. And your next best port of call? I’d recommend Kim Huggens’ ‘Tarot 101’.
For those with more experience, if you’re looking for a book to re-invigorate your connection with the cards, I haven’t found any better than this one and Kim Huggens’ book. Gina Rabbins suggests that beginners work through her book with one of the more traditional decks. For those of us with decades of experience behind us, and this is what I’m currently doing, I’d suggest working with a deck you feel strongly drawn to but whose imagery is still challenging, a deck that you would not yet feel comfortable to do a reading from.
