While visiting "Jim Corbett" National Park in India earlier this year I became aware of the plight of the Tigers and then on seeing this book for sale at the park I decided it may be an interesting read, so I purchased the book. Once I got home from travelling I started to read the book and to my great delight it transported me right back there. It was a wonderful read from start to finish. Initially, I didn't expect much from a Hunter turned conservationist, but I couldn't have been more wrong. He wrote with such ease and beauty that I found myself reading very slowly so that the book would last that much longer. You know the feeling when your reading a great book, your torn between turning the page and finishing it there and then or savouring it and making it last as long as you can. I chose the later, not wanting the journey to end. The book only confirmed my love for these fascinating creatures and the Indian people. It was a great read and I can't wait to read the 2nd Omnibus when it is available. I have already ordered "Jungle Lore" by Jim Corbett, to get my fix until I get my hands on the follow up..
