I loved this book as a child and even now as a teacher, I enjoy sharing it with the children year after year. It is so light hearted and fun, the kids love reading the letters. I have also run a classroom activity based on this book. The students were keen to make their own. In a time when 'snail mail' seems to be superceded by email, msn, sms...it reminds us that it is still special to receive letters.

The Jolly Postman is an exquisitely presented book that provides entertainment even without reading its story of multiple fairytales. One cannot help but be drawn to the pages turned into envelopes, containing all manner of surprises. Children will enjoy discovering what is contained inside such pages, some of the gifts proving to be very special in their own right. A beautiful children's story.

This book is just simply delightful! This book allows your child to interact with the book, rather than just reading it from end to end - and that in itself just makes the experience that much more enjoyable for them. And enjoyment is what reading for children is all about, because if what they find in books is boring, they are unlikely to be passionate about reading when they are older!

Any child, and their parents too, would just love to receive this book as a birthday present. What child doesn't know Goldilocks or Cinderella? Children will revel in the familiarity of these characters as they are all drawn together by the friendly and very patient postman. You'll just love the way he wobbles on his bicycle! I did.
