I love the Australian Women's Weekly books. This is no exception. The children's birthday cakes in this book are gorgeous and even some one with my very poor cooking skills can follow these instructions. I have made several of the cakes in this book and received compliments. There are many great ideas for both boys and girls, so no one is left out.

A classic with easy to follow instructions. My first children's birthday cake turned out just like the picture. I can't believe I used to buy my birthday cakes.

This is the most used cake book on my shelf. The birght pictures, and templates are a great help. They use lollies that are easy to get and better to eat.

Really really good, but doesn't top the one that my mum had when I was growing up!

Another great cook book by the women's weekly. I was a little diappointed that it repeats some Birthday cakes from their other Birthday cook books. Pictures are great and recipes easy to follow.

This is a fantastic book. The instructions are simple and concise, with some tasty, easy recipes if you don't want to use a packet mix. You can choose a cake that only takes a little while to decorate or one that requires more time. The kids are always excited to choose their birthday cake. I made the cover cake for my daughter's first birthday and it got a lot of compliments. A birthday is a special occasion and why not make a special cake?
