This excellent book of Who's Who in the English Monarchy from Egbert to Elizabeth 11 was worth the long wait I had to obtain a copy. It follows from very ancient times to the most recent encumbent, with a listing of The Kings of Wessex from Cedric (519-534) to Egbert (802 -839).It then follows on with entries for each of the Saxons through to the Windsors. Fascinating snapshots of each of the players without going into too much depth. Did you know that James 1 had published books on various subjects including the health hazards of smoking? Read this book and marvel at the interesting facets of life in the history of the Kings and Qeueens. Thorougly recommended.
