If you like J. R. Ward, you should like this series. It’s not as deep or as dark or as densely packed with torment or adventure, but it’s not a bad read. When the main characters get together, it’s excellent. The in-between angsty stuff can be a little boring, but Adrian really pulls it all together toward the end for a gripping finale. Tess is a vet with an unusual gift of healing. Dante is a vamp riddled with bullets who stumbles into her surgery. Turns out that Tess, unknowingly, is a Breedmate, one of the few women who can give birth to the children of vampires, and when Dante feeds from her he unintentionally partially bonds with her. Trouble is, Tess has an ex-who-doesn’t-want-to-be-ex boyfriend, and Dante is looking for the supplier of Crimson, a party drug that turns vamps in blood addicts and sends them Rogue. Add a cute dog, and you have a good book.

Dante - Mmmm, mmmm, mmmm. He is the ultimate Breed Warrior - a merciless killing machine that lives to hunt. Then through the course of the book, we discover an educated, almost urbane side - which looked good to me on what was already tall, dark and droolworthy.
What I loved about this book is that when he accidentally ties Tess to himself, he doesnt just waltz in and take her. He sort of works up to it - both charmingly and a little ineptly. He doesnt deny what he unexpectedly feels and is prepared to give up all that he is for her.
I thought it was really romantic particularly the life and death situation at the end (which I wont spoil for you).
Tender and sexy. I loved it.

I Loved this book from beginning to end. Dante and Tess' story was amazing to read. And the way they met was very amusing and scary at the same time. Loved, Love, Loves this Book.

i really enjoyed this book and if your into alpha male heros and you loved J.R Ward then your gunna love this too. Its a very good stand alone romance, However there is a long story arc so you should start with the first book 'Midnight Kiss'. The whole series is all just as good.Highly recommended.

This is book 2 in the Midnight Breed series and you must read the first book to understand what the breed is all about. Anyway this is about the breed named Dante and oh what a darling. He is a vicious killer but also has a tender heart for his breedmate Tess which this story revolves around. She saves him twice then he saves her so they are truly meant to be together and her special gift is pretty cool. Great read, same sortof as JR Ward but should I say better. Oops. Well that my take on this book. Great read. Next book I can not wait to read.
