There was something fresh and insanely intriguing about this book. I am a self confessed vampire addict and wasn't sure how this book would suit me but I found myself addicted to every last word. I had to know, needed to know.. then had to keep buy the next one etc...
Gives a unique insight into a fantasy world melded with our own. While this book has the faerie storyline, mixed with your odd goblin, brownie types, its not your stereo typical fantasy book that i find myself confused and lost it. Its clear, concise and utterly absorbing!...
Fantastic read. Something totally different. It has everything - Murder, Intrigue, Suspense, Romance & Fantasy. Can't wait to get into the next in the Meredith Gentry series.
Hamilton brings us in to a world of magic, politics & lustful sex. Merry the main character is an independant strong female who is thrust back in to her fey world. The faeries are very different from those of childhood novels they are ruthless and also terribly sensual, with many extremes. This book is what sexual fantasies are made from, yet it has a strong story line, which is very fast paced. I was up until 4am reading this and it was done in 2 nights and I was left wanting the next in the series immediately. Sometimes books are just not long enough :)
I would recommend this to fantasy and erotica lovers alike.
Twisted and wicked. A faerie princess has managed to escape the convoluted lifestyle that is the Unseelie court but she has been found when she chases after a faerie cult. Dark and twisted this puts conventional faerie tales on their ear. Again in the courts of her aunt she has to protect herself from her conniving cousin who tries to kill her and since she had mortal blood that is easier than some. but with the right allies everything can work out. if you read this keep a open mind as it is dodgy as. at least five different sexual partners and there would have been more if one hadn't had his bits eaten off by a wicked little pixie. I love it.
Meredith Gentry is a faerie princess. Not the disneyfied children's version either. This one lives in Los Angeles, and much like Angel, is a private investigator of sorts, and looks into problems associated with the supernatural world a lot of the time.
She is also involved with the politics of the faerie realm, and this is why she is hiding out. She gets discovered, and has to fight back against the relatives that want to bump her off.
While the words fairy porn spring fairly quickly to mind this book is much more than that. If anything these are even better than the Anita Blake series of books (speaking of the Merry Gentry series as a whole), better written and erotic without being over the top.
Amazing and original! This is the first book of the Meredith Gentry series by that highly accomplished author Laurell Hamilton. Meredith is a Sidhe princess hiding from her Sidhe brethren in the real world. Unfortunately circumstances compell her to reveal her true identity and she has to journey back to the Sidhe realm where she is confronted with both political and real threats to her life. A truly fascinating and sexually sizzling story that will take your breath away.Wonderful!
