Richard M. Alderman is the former associate dean for academic affairs and Dwight Olds Chair in Law at the University of Houston Law Center. Since 1980, he has appeared regularly on radio and television stations as "The People's Lawyer." He lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
“This book is better than having a lawyer in the family. Know Your
Rights! is more than just "A little bit of knowledge" and not
nearly as dangerous. READ IT. That's an order!” ("Judge" Larry Joe
Doherty, star of TV's Texas Justice, star of TV's Texas
Justice)
“The best book in Texas for straightforward answers to legal
questions that complicate our lives.” (Lynne Liberato, past
president, State Bar of Texas)
“This book keeps you well informed about your legal rights. This is
good and bad for Judges. The litigants are better prepared and so
dockets run smoothly... but .... we now have to be even better at
what we do. When litigants come in quoting Richard Alderman, I
know, I better really be on my toes.” (Molly Maness-Barnes, Texas
Small Claims Court Judge)
