Obviously, this book is written for beginners. There are so many books on the market aimed at this market- some great, many not-so-great. This is one of the best. It's enduring popularity is due to the fact that it is both easy to understand, and intelligent. This book contains a course, which means that it includes exercises to help you learn. For a beginners' book, it is very comprehensive and will give you an solid knowledge to build upon. It will not teach you many spreads (just the Celtic Cross) and teaches with only the Rider Waite (aka Rider Waite Smith, aka RWS for short) deck, but the reason behind it is that the RWS is arguably the best deck for beginners (still favoured by many advanced readers) and that learning too many spreads too early on can get very confusing. This is an excellent place to start, and could also be helpful for more advanced readers too, as well as those wanting to revise. Highly recommended.
