Written by the guru himself, this book gives detailed description with photos of the various poses and the purposes of each. It also gives the yoga practitioner a new challenge in that it sets a long term plan that can be worked through. My only complaint is the binding of this book! It does not take long for the pages to start loosening up.

Light on Yoga. Such a beautiful book. I've recently returned to the practise of yoga and am finding that it is helping me to find a new level of being. Light on yoga does concentrate on asanas and all involved int he physical aspect of this practise. It also delves into defining what yoga is and the spiritual side of it. This book offers much insight to yoga and all that is involved. For those who are interested in yoga beyond being trendy or basic asanas for physical trimming then this really is the book for you. It's tasteful, the pictures will possibly blow your mind as you witness this well respected gentleman contort his body into a number of poses. The photographic images are in black and white but much care has been taken to assure that they are clear.

What I love the most about this book is that the benfits of poses are described in detail also, thus giving you the physical purpose for the pose.
