This was an easy book to read. I particularly liked the bolded headings indicating important points. It was a very good guide to literacy teaching within primary schools with good background into theories and the various literacies influencing children today.
This is quite a good book, compared to much of the literacy teaching guides currently on the market. The book provides not only theoretical information, which is good for developing personal philosophies and academic essays, but also provides alot of practical knowledge for use in classrooms. It is quite good at providing information for the implementation of a balanced literacy program.
