The colour production in this book could have been brighter. I have other copies of it in a larger size that have brilliant colour so I was expecting the same.
This book is a bit of a classic, and a must have for any teacher.
It is an excellent motivator for social science, maths,health, technology and philosophy for children. It's uses are only limited by your imagination.
Read the book as a 'read to' book with your class, or alternatively read it in parts. An ideal place to stop is where the Little Mouse has to solve the problem, of how to hide his red ripe strawberry.
The illustrations are gorgeous, and bound to get more than a few smiles from kids.
This is a cheeky story. It is beautifully illustrated, and although it does not have a lot of words, it is very engaging and funny. The protagonist frightens a little mouse into thinking that a bear is after his strawberry and the mouse exploresd many (Unsuccessful) ways to disguise his strawberry, including putting a groucho marx glasses and nose disguise on the strawberry.
Read it with your child and explore concepts such as sharing, whole and halves, and playing tricks.
