Laurell K Hamilton is writing a truly fabulous series with the Anita Blake novels. Book number 4 is a fabulous story bringing to life Richard Zeeman, an alpha in the local werewolf pack. Filled with warm, loveable characters and a intriguing story-line this is a series not to be missed. Do be sure to read these novels in order as it adds a lot to the story and once you start you'll definately be hooked.
One of the best Anita Blake books Lunatic Cafe is faster paced than previous outings and introduces a new love interest on top of Jean Claude's undead affections.
This book also begins to introduce new metaphysical concepts that become important later in the series, definately not one to skip.
For those of you who have never read any of the Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter series, you really don't know what you're missing. Laurell K Hamilton has a writing style that is as entertaining as it is unique. Extremely fast-paced with the perfect mix of tenderness, wit, fear, sorrow and eroticism. In The Lunatic Cafe, we pick back up with Anita's blossoming relationship with Richard, Alpha Male of the lycanthropes (werewolves), and her confusion over her feelings for Jean-Claude, the Master of the City (and master vampire extraordinaire), who seems intent on wooing her. Caught up in the usual mess of murders, disappearances, vampires, were-animals and police corruption, Anita has more than enough on her plate to keep readers turning the page until the ride is over. Highly recommended reading.
In this installment of the Anita Blake vampire huntress and necromancer series, Laurell Hamilton pitts her fascinating heroine against not just the vampires but also against a new array of deadly werecreatures. Someone is killing the local werewolves and Anita is recruited to find the unknown killer[s]. Along the way she has some sizzling interludes with both Jean Claude, the Master Vampire of the City and her new beau Richard, a dominant werewolf with issues of his own. A great roller coaster action ride of a book. Wonderful!
