This book provides a step by step approach to learning how to manage chronic pain from injury or illness using well researched psychological approaches. It is an excellent resource for counsellors to use with chronic pain clients and explains concepts and tasks clearly. It is aimed at people whose pain is affecting their ability to do ordinairy daily activities and to participate fully in life. It can be used with pain from any injury or illness and helps you to change your thinking about pain, manage the depression that often occurs and to gradually increase your tolerance for everyday activities so you can be more active and involved in life. An excellent resource for anyone living in chronic pain or working with them.
