Fabulous story for babies to young readers, best read out loud. The reader is carried along by a rolling rhythm and rhyme so delightful that you dare not drop a word. While caught up in the musicality of language, an enchanting story unfolds about Marmaduke duck, who makes a pot of marmalade jam, stirring up a frenzy in all the nearby animals, who are then "in haste for a taste of the marmalade jam." When a llama eats the entire pot, the story is at risk of upset but instead ends beautifully with a suggestion out of the box from the llama farmer Palmer and a combined effort at making a new pot of jam. I still love it after the billionth read of the week.
