Reviews

"Janet Finn has given voice to the children of Butte, Montana, and they are as gritty, tough, funny, and poignant as any characters in the history of the American West. By putting children at the heart of the story of Butte, Finn has shifted the ground of history, granting us a knee-high view into the social world of one of America's great mining towns."-Mary Murphy, Montana State University professor of history and author of Mining Cultures: Men, Women, and Leisure in Butte, 1914-41
