About the Author
Award-winning children's author Giles Andreae has enjoyed success both in the UK and abroad with his picture books. Giles is also the creator of the phenomenally successful PURPLE RONNIE and EDWARD MONKTON greeting cards and merchandising. He lives in London with his wife and young children. Sarah McIntyre was born in Seattle. She studied Russian literature and art history at Bryn Mawr College, then earned a distinction while doing her master's degree in Illustration at Camberwell College of the Arts in London. She brings her love of travel and adventure to her work, and loves the thrill of being a perpetual tourist in London, where she has lived since 1999.

It's disgusting in a hilarious way. The first time I read it I could barely keep from snorting at the grossness (his house walls are made of dung but it only smells right when damp so he licks them, he has potatoes growing out of his pants, he picks his sores etc - all in Giles Andreae's usual rhyming rhythm), then it ends with how friendly he is and the last page is, "So he's coming to give you a KISS!" The kids love to "EEeeewwww!" at that.
This is definitely a favourite with all five of my children, aged 1 - 10 years.
