This is the book my study group of Mystics is using to launch our year with, before heading for John of God and Thomas Merton. It is a delight to find an in depth Christian view which is inclusive and respectful of the many mystical paths and is a good follow on from The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle. It is written in short sections and I think of it as offering sign posts and viewing mounds from which to contemplate the vastness of God in everything. Reading it before we met opened up a wonderful conversation of sharing how each of us understands our experience of Jesus and God and all the Great spiritual teachers; sorting the conserved cultural rituals of Church from the dynamic and alive truth embedded, even hidden, in our own faith practices. We are a diverse group of thinkers and seers and meet in a beautiful old (for Australia) church in the Hills of Western Australia.
