I consider this book to be one of the most important books I have read in my understanding of the human condition. Eckhart Tolle gives great insight into the the evolution of human awareness and enables the reader to come to terms with their ego and discover their true self. Much of what is disfunctional in the world is the result of people's egos. The human fixation on always wanting more, of resentment and disatisfaction is due to the ego, and it is only when we come to understand this as a species that we will be able to live in harmony with the Earth. I would recommend this book and hope many people will read it.

Everyone should read this book. They should make it early high school required reading. If we could all understand this at a young age, the world could rapidly become a better place as we stop creating so many problems for ourselves & everyone around us due to unawareness of a few simple principles. Prepare for many 'omg' moments of self realization, & of previous thought & behavior patterns. Is ignorance ever an excuse? Just reading this starts the change, as once you realize the nature of the ego, 'mind' and pain body, your perspective shifts. It is profound. I now like to imagine the world full of people who are no longer just unconscious automatons, knee-jerk reacting to everything around them, but conscious & aware, creating something better for everyone...... Hey, we've got to start somewhere - reading this book is a brilliant start.

This is book is absolutely amazing. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is open to learning about awareness.
