This book is one of Sherrilyn Kenyon's best. Not only does it include her signiture action, wit and passion, it tells the story of normal, everyday Bride McTierney, who is a refreshing size 18, and Vane Kattalakis, a Were-Hunter who has been betrayed by his pack and become outcast.
What follows is a rolicing ride in which Bride will have to learn what it means to be a Were-Hunter's mate and Vane will have to learn how to express his human heart. This is truly a must have read which you simply won't be able to put down... oh, did I happen to mention that the love sceens are really, really hot?

This was one of my favourite in the series so far. I too loved that Bride is a full figured girl, and that Vane loved her for it (not inspite of it, and if felt natural for a big strong male to want someone who is soft and warm in his arms - (am I getting carried away with myself here??)

I don't know where Sherrilyn Kenyon came up with her world for the Dark Hunter series, but you got to love it!!
This book is the first full length insight into the Were-Hunter side of Kenyon's world and who could expect this book to be anything less than sexy, sassy and a hell of a lot of fun.
Vane (half man, half wolf) already has alot on his plate including a catatonic brother, another brother he didn't know he had who isn't his biggest fan, a murderous father on his tail and a psychotic mother chasing Vane and his brothers through time to kill them. Vane is then mated (without his consent) to a woman who's father is the dog neutering king.
Vane has 3 weeks to bond with Bride before he becomes sterile for the rest of her existence, bring his brother back to the land of the living, convince his other brother that he wants him as part of his family and stop his mother and father from killing him, his brothers or his mate.
If you haven't read any of Kenyon's books, Start with Fantasy Lover. You will not be disappointed.

If you love a good romance novel with a dash of sex thrown in then this book is for you. And for those who love a bit of danger on the side, you won't be able to put it down. A funny, romantic and thrillng story, it is definitly for all you girls out there who just wish they could get their hands on a man like Vane. Loved it and a really good read for those rainy Sundays stuck inside.

This is one of my favourite book of all time cos for once (or however rare it is), the heroin is NOT a size 2 (us) or a size 8 (UK), gorgeous lady with a body to die for. This girl is a size 16 and she has all her insecurities but the hero saw through it all and loved her. She's quite tall but he towers her. She's quite heavy but he can carry her with ease. She loves him and he'd never cheat on her and live only to lover her. He's every woman's dream guy (hot, sexy, cute butt and totally loveble) who loves an imperfect girl and we can always relate to parts of the heroin with our insecurities. For a few hours, let's get lost in the world where we are not perfect but this dream guy accepts exactly who and what we are.

After reading a portion of this book on a website I immediately ordered the first 8 books in the series (all that were released at that stage). Night Play is a fantastic read from the very beginning of the book until the last pages. Kenyon manages to merge a steamy romance with a lot of humourous banter, and in this book brings to the spotlight the Were Hunters who have hovered around the edges of the last few Dark Hunter books. Vane an Katagarian Wolf is betrayed by his family and left to die along with his brother Fang. He later meets Bride, who we have seen in a couple of Kenyon's earlier books. It was nice to read about a female character who wasn't stuningly beautiful or small and petite (Bride is described as being quite large). Almost my favourite in the series...

I really enjoyed the flow of the story. There was a lot of information to take in about were-hunters - the wolves at least. The description of the female wolves left me wondering how Kenyon will write stories about them since the females are alphas themselves. In this book, we find Vane seeking a little gentleness with a "human" woman. He wants to comfort Bride and this really heads quickly to intimacy. He, as an animal, I think is just ready all the time and Bride is just rebounding from a failed relationship. But this is fantasy and who needs all the "getting to know you" stuff. We, as readers, know that eventually they will wind up together -- the romance is very nice and I actually think they come to love each other in a more conventional manner than other dark-hunter novels.
There wasn't as much violence in this book as in the rest of the series. I liked that. You bump into all your favorite characters and meet some new ones. I'm not sure these books stand alone since I am reading them in order.

I like Vane as a character. looking after his crippled brothe and having lost everything in his life he goes back to a place where everything had been fine, before his tragedies to Bride who had caught his attention. little does he know that she is going to end up his mate. It is rather funny that her father is a vet and likes to snip bits off dogs. I like getting to look at the Were world that is totally different from the Dark hunter. a good read.
