Jean-Luc Istin has written or illustrated more than 25 graphic novel series, including Aquilon: Aleph; Merlin and Merlin the Prophet; Lancelot; Excalibur; and Elves. He lives in France. (translated from the French) This reading of The Night of the
Living Dead is effective, not only because the narrative is clever
and rhythmic, but mainly because the graphical environment is
daunting. The sets though beautiful are distressing, Bonetti did
not hesitate to include many wide panoramic shots: dark halls,
cemeteries, or snowy roads alternate with infested alleys maintain
a high level of tension throughout the 50 boards. Add to this the
final cliffhanger... Stunning scenes, effective storytelling and
constant suspense.--Baron Mardi "My Zombie Culture Blog" (9/3/2014

Detailed illustrations fill every panel of this graphic novel while
Istin's intelligent dialogue brings the characters into sharper
focus as we connect with them and their fears... This is the first
of a trilogy and hopefully the next two will be quickly made
available.--Terry Peters "North Shore News" (11/18/2016 12:00:00

It's said to never judge a book by its cover. Yet, Night of the
Living Dead volume 1 does not pause with an impressive jacket. Elia
Bonetti greets readers with realistic illustrations. Each panel is
visually striking, each conveying a sense of violence, dread, and
action. The level of detail within each design is astounding...
Firefly Books Limited delivers on craftsmanship. Night of the
Living Dead volume 1 is printed on a glossy paper stock. Colors are
vivid and pop off from each page. The graphic novel itself is a
work of art that can be best served a framed collectible.--Ken

Laying the foundation for the series, this entry is a modern
rewrite of the classic film that launched the popular zombie
genre... The visuals and language are graphic but would be
appropriate for mature high school students. The art beautifully
sets the mood with full-color illustrations and varying panel sizes
that direct readers' focus. Teens will anxiously await the future
releases. An engaging series for fans of the zombie genre,
especially those who enjoyed The Walking Dead comic book or
television series.--Kevin McGuire "School Library Journal"
