I would have to say this is one of the books of the 20th century. An earily sinister vision of a future full of apathetic citizens programmed to conform, with no room for even a stray thought against the machine. If you want a thought provoking read that will open your eyes to deep and current societal issues, this is it.

As a teenager reading this book today I was fascinated by its relevance to not only communism, but the nature of humanity. I found it shocking and deeply depressing, knowing and worrying the whole time that what was on the next page would be even worse than the previous one. However, I believe that it is an essential read, and is also relevant to so many other, more contemporary texts.

This is one of the classic books of last century. Sometimes depressing, sometimes inspiring it brings you into a world where reality is relative. This as among the best books I have eaver read and it's chilling when you see some of the same language still being used around the world.
