The story of Dark Hunter Samia and shapeshifter Dev is finally here and this is also the first dark hunter book since Acheron (as the others in between were Werehunter stories) so there are some problems to overcome left hanging from Acheron. This book is great if you are already immersed in the series - as you see many characters from previous books but I'm not sure if it is really a book to pick up without reading the previous ones. This is also the start of a new story arc (Acheron was the end of the previous one) so it isn't one to miss. Overall a great read - lots of action, romance and the dialogue made me laugh out loud so many times! Loved it and looking forward to the next one.

Dev Peltier a bear shape shifter has been the doorman for his family's bar for centuries. One night Darkhuntress and former Amazon Samia (Sam)approaches him demanding to know the rumor about Daimons being able to walk in day light because she has a feeling that somethings up in Daimon town.
After what seems be an extremely short courtship,Sam invites Dev over to her place for a little fun but ends up regretting the decision when she remembers what happened to her family. For his part,Dev is insulted to be thought of just as a booty call but finds himself drawn to Sam and sulks around her place like a crazy stalker....
Wow this was a great action adventure.Like almost all Sherrilyn Kenyon books, this one had a lot of world building and a few subplots involving characters from the previous books. At least this one had a definite happy ending (unlike the last one Bad Moon Rising).

"No Mercy" is another fantastic novel in the Dark Hunter series. A definite read for anyone who is a Dark Hunter fan!
I would agree that this is definitely not a book that you could pick up and read as a 'first' in the series, as too many previous characters have been made reference to. It was good to read a story about one of the male bears in the Peltier family and see how life is moving on from Bad Moon Rising.
A typical Sherrilyn Kenyon book with wit, adventure, action and a touch of romance. If you have enjoyed any of Sherrilyn's previous work, you will enjoy this read!
