A vampire warrior who yearns for death...Three hundred years ago, Sebastian Wroth's brothers forced him to become a vampire-a nightmare in his mind. Shamed and alone for ages, he longs to die. Until an exquisite creature comes to kill him, inadvertently saving him instead. A beautiful assassin dispatched to destroy him...When Kaderin the Cold Hearted lost her two beloved sisters long ago, a benevolent force deadened her sorrow-accidentally extinguishing all of her emotions. Yet whenever she encounters the vampire with his grave eyes, her feelings-particularly lust-emerge multiplied. For the first time, she's unable to complete a kill. The prize is a key powerful enough to resurrect her sisters. Not understanding the key's import, Sebastian hinders her against other opponents by using her new feelings to seduce her and earn her love. But when Kaderin is forced to choose between finally killing Sebastian and reuniting her family, how can she live without either...?

I read No Rest for the Wicked before reading the previous release of A Hunger Like No Other and I enjoyed it as a stand-alone novel, so don't worry if you haven't read anything else from Kresley Cole. Kaderin the cold-hearted is a valkyrie vampire-huntress who is losing her edge. For centuries she has been... well, cold-hearted. Feeling nothing, she was able to dispatch swift death to vampires the world over, however when she goes to a broken-down castle, she finds she can't take this vampire's life. Sebastian is ready to end his cold, dark existence when suddenly he is discovered by his Bride - and she wants him dead!
Lots of fun, plenty of adventure, and sizzling sensuality.
I thorougly enjoyed this book, not quite as good as A Hunger Like No Other but it did not disappoint.
The characters of Sabastian and Kaderin are well written and interconnected, with revisting supporting characters from A Hunger Like No Other, plenty of action in the plot in the form of 'The Hie" a paranormal version of The Amazing Race kicks the book along.
As usual Kresley writes interesting vunerable characters that you can relate to which makes her writing very distinctive.
Definitely recommended for a light read, and sets up the next characters fo the third book in the series with the characters of Bowen and Mari.
This sequel to ‘A Hunger Like No Other’ is wonderful. Kaderin the Cold Hearted is a Valkyrie whose sole mission in life is to kill vampires. Sebastian [how come so many vamps are named Sebastian?] is a vampire who wants to die. You’d think it would be simple, but no. Kaderin turns up at Bastian’s castle, sword in hand, but instead of the cold satisfaction of murder she discovers the hot bewilderment of lust. Kaderin hasn’t felt anything for over a millennium, not since the vicious murders of her sisters. Now, with Bastian, she can’t stop feeling. Neither can he. After three centuries his heart begins to beat, his loins to, well, beat as well. To his delight and her horror, they realise Kaderin is his destined Bride. Kaderin runs, Bastian follows, and finds himself embroiled in the Otherworld form of The Amazing Race. The prize is a time key, which Kad wants so she can go back in time to save her sisters. The thing is, everyone else wants it to, for reasons just as important. You might want to read the prequel first, but it’s not essential. An enjoyable light read.
This moved along at a great pace, with the competition adding interest to a romance that had you rooting for Sebastian to get a leg over. The ending was tight and worked in well. The sex scenes were as they always are in this genre - overdone. What ever happened to the Rosemary Rogers style sex scene which didn't have to last a paragraph, yet was so much more exciting. But at least in these books, you can skim the sex scenes when they start to bore you and you won't lose the thread of the story.
Great book love this series can not wait to read the next. this book has all the best qualities of a top paranormal book. It is fast pace and sexy with some small sub plots and characters running through it to keep the pace going and the reader intrigued. It is sexy and the characters are wonderful bitter and vengeful but wanting to find happiness and love. This is a great book in a geat series a must read
It's alright if you like that kind of thing. I just wish authors of paranormals didn't make life so complicated with so many beasts and 'things'. After a while, they all read the same, whoever the author is.
