OH-MY-GOSH!!!! This book was brilliant from start to finish! It is billed as the sequel to Pillars of the Earth, but stands alone (without reading the first book) as well. I found it faster paced throughout (than POTE), will no dull patches. The passages with each character are shorter than in POTE, and this helps the easy progression of the story... I read the 1100+ pages in 36 hours - it was THAT good! If you like historical fiction - you will love World Without End!
