Good little book for your little octonauts fan. It is a shortened version of the tv episode. I probably would not recommend if your child doesn't know what octonauts are, but my son loves octonauts and thought this was great. He could tell me the names of all the characters and everything.
This book is not written by Meomi the creators of The Octonauts and so it lacks the same imaginative edge as the original books. If you watch the television series however it is a faithful abbreviation of the episode and is a wonderful way to get your child interested in reading the words of a story that they have already seen on television.
his is a fabulous book to read to young children. Very competent under 8s might be able to read it unaided if they are used to the names in the series. There's lots of fun text, some brilliant characters and eye catching, bright illustrations with lots of detail.
In this story the explore, rescue and protect Octonauts have to rescue Dashi from the cave she's exploring which turns out to be the inside of a whale shark. There are fact boxes dotted around which e.g. explain what a filter feeder is and what gills do.
