Kenyon is back! After 'Acheron', [sorry, all those who liked it, but this is my review and I found it self-indulgent and tedious for the most part, without the light Kenyon gave to her earlier Dark Hunter novels], I was a little worried trying 'One Silent Night'. It was the character of Stryker that tempted me. Could Kenyon make the bad guy of the Dark Hunter novels a viable hero? Oh, yeah. Kenyon has taken what could be a black and white scenario of good versus evil and made Stryker, at least for this novel, a hero. Not even an anti-hero. An honest to goodness [okay, so 'goodness' mightn't actually apply] hero as he and Ash, and Stryker's furious ex, Zephyra, a woman who can really put hell into hello, fight together against a Christmas Eve bloodbath. While maybe not at the level of the very first Dark Hunter books, before they got bogged down in the mythological backdrop, 'One Silent Night' is, for me, almost back to Kenyon at her best.

Oh yeah I just LUVED this book, it gave another insight into 'the other world" wow I couldnt put it down and I just had to keep reading. Now I cant wait to read more about the other characters like Jared and Savitor who still remains a mystery to me. I even had compassion for Stryker in some places but evil is evil I suppose. I'd love to be a spider on the wall when Sherrilyn writes Nick's story, now there is a mystery yum yum

I'm a Sherrilyn Kenyon fan; I own all her books. Although I usually devour her books in one sitting, I was a little disappointed with this one; it took me a whole Saturday to read! A good story that takes the storyline in a new direction, but not as good as 'Acheron', her last book.

I found this story to be disappointing for Stryker. He has been the badass from the Kalosis and he's beat down by his ex wife. Felt this character needed abit more depth. Is this the end of the dark hunter series.

I'm sorry folks, but in my opinion this book really let down the Darkhunter series. I love this series, but I thought that the book was underdeveloped, and might have been better as a short story or a novella. The writing style was average at best, and reminded me more of the cheap romance novels you buy than the detailed, complex and sometimes convoluted plot of the Darkhunter series. After 'Acheron' this was a big disappointment

I was disapointed with this book as it begins 2 weeks before Ash's book ends with his marriage and Nick going off with Artemis. Anything so exciting would have been referred to in Ash's book. Maybe if she set it 2 weeks after the marriage would have been better. Her first book to disapoint me as all the others I have read again and again

I really enjoyed reading this book. For someone who really didn't like Stryker (in any of the earlier books in this series), it was fantastic reading a story from his POV and I ended up really liking and sympathising with him. Definitely worth while reading.
