Good book, bad price. It is available for around $105 on other kiwi sites. Fishpond needs to review its prices. Students are always looking for competitive prices.
Optics, by Eugene Hecht, is a second-year physics resource for most optics related courses. The book covers many topics on an introductory level with many pictures and descriptions, and an excellent introduction. Each chapter covers the material very well. This book is for people who want to introduce themselves to various subjects in optics without going into heavy detail. I might add that this book is very readable, even for those who have already studied the topic, or for those with no background knowledge whatsoever.
