I received this book in the mail today, and am thrilled with it! I have been scouring the library for books to learn the 'art' of vege gardening (particularly organic) and I'm glad I've decided to buy this one, I won't want to part with it. It's split into the 12 months and in each month talks about three different vegetables in detail, plus has lists of other vegetables to sow or plant at that time of year, and pages of tasks to keep your garden growing and healthy. There's still room for some 'story' at the beginning of each chapter as the author describes how her own garden is going, and lots of glossy photographs that show how your garden can look in time and illustrate the 'how to' of the different tasks each month. Everything is there - building garden beds, composting, mulching, raising seeds, companion planting, pest control and crop rotation etc. Not just informative but very inspiring and a really appealing book to read.

I love this book. I got it as a birthday/Christmas pressie and it's fab! I am not a gardener in any sense of the word but am really keen to start my own organic vegetable garden. This book is easy to understand and simple to follow. I especialy like the way it sets everything out month by month - great for people like me who need Vegetable Gardening for Dummies type instructions.
Also the extra info on raised beds (so I don't have to bend over so far) and things like composting (ewww - told you I wasn't a gardener) and mulching are also useful for the rest of the garden.
This book will make a gardener of me yet!
