This is by far the best book concerning fitting clothes and modifying commercial sewing patterns that I have ever read. The book goes into detail regarding the different body shapes, taking correct measurements and adjusting the pattern. The book takes into account fitting shoulders and sleeves, collars and necklines, bust, armhole, back, waist and abdomen, hips and pants.

This is a very detailed step-by-step guide on how to get from your measurements to a final pattern fitting your specific needs. Illustrated with lots of photos this book is easy to understand. I highly recommend the lecture of this book before trying to modify a pattern yourself.

I've yet to find a book that provides such an indepth look at pattern fitting. As far from standard pattern measurements myself, I found the book to be informative and precise in the adjustments needed to be made. Numerous alterations are covered. Pattern alterations can be very difficult, but this book does a very nice job of simplifying it. Thoroughly recommended

Easily understood helps create garments that fit and look like they are tailor made
