Awesome! Begins as a what seems to be an obscure 15yo boy's journal but develops into much more than this. About growing up, relationships, first sexual experiences and maturity, exploration of drugs amidst the nostalgic popculture of bands such as nirvana, the Smiths & Smashing Pumpkins. But what sets out as a 90's version of the Wonder years insidiously starts to take on a more dark, sinister & adult flavour. Charlie at first seems to be the stereotypical passive & benign school nerd. As the book evolves Charlie we learn puzzling things about charlie that are vastly incogruent with our first impressions. Cleverly written, compelling, funny & sad. You will have to order it in on special order if you live in Australia.
