What's the big new phenomenon, making lovable stuffed monsters! Influenced by the popularity of Japanese anime and video game culture, urban illustration and design, plus the do-it-yourself craft movement, these designer plush toys are everywhere - even museum stores. Yet they're simple to sew. Just take fabric, a needle, thread and stuffing, combine a touch of cuteness with a dash of utter weirdness and you've got one of the oddest, most irresistible creatures ever. And these 30+ projects - including furry, green-lipped Monkey; Greggles, who sports a coif of tentacles - are as much at home in a trendy loft studio as in a child's room.
This is a fantastic book!! One of the best ones I have recieved. It has big beautiful bright illustrations of each work... but not only that!!! It contains instructions for ALL items shown, unlike other books of this nature that I have purchased. There is a wide variety of projects one to suit everyone! They are all cute and cudly and this is definatly a way to get inspired, not only that it will be a project you want to start right away. I did have a little bit of sewing knowledge when purchasing this book so found it very straight fprward to follow instructions. In saying this, it also contains a sewing 101 in the beggining along with helpful ideas for fabrics. This book is definatly my pick of the bunch!!
