From the 'Working Classics Series ' comes this modern anarchist classic, bringing an inspiring vision of how a non-hierarchical, ecologically minded and non-capitalist society can equitably meet human needs. Bookchin argues that material scarcity need no longer plague human history. Through the dissolution of hierarchical relations, social and cultural potentials can now be fulfilled in our 'post-scarcity' era.

Reviews
–
This is one of Murray Bookchin's best collections, and also one of his most anarchist, before he turns, in his later years, to something not very resemblant of anarchism at all. The article "Listen, Marxist!" is included in this work, and is a stand-out critique of Marxist organisational practices, the vanguard party, and historical determinism. The works on post-scarcity anarchism are good introductions to Bookchin's ecology, and provide excellent detail to the concept itself. An excellent introductory work to Bookchin the younger.
