Though there was a lot of good information in this book, I would not call it "An Australian Guide". From the content I doubt the authors have actually lived in Australia. There was a lot on advise on conserving heat in your home/greenhouse etc rather than insulating against the heat/cooling, as well as how to construct a water wheel in your backyard for that stream/creek you may have on your property, don't know of many places what have one of those. Those are two main examples of why I do not agree with the chosen subtitle. Still there was interesting info such as making your own biodiesel as well as a listing of Australian resources in the back (which realistically could be found with a simple web-search). I bought this book because it was "Australian" based and am somewhat disappointed, because of this I would give it 3.5, and knowing this beforehand, doubt I would have bought it.

I can't rate this book highly enough! It has so much information on just about every aspect of sustainable living. The information is well written and easy to understand. Also the step by step guides to implementing the ideas are thorough and easy to follow. It's also great to have a book that is written from an AUstralian point of view and takes into account our harsh seasonal conditions.

I love this book, not only is it full of information on how to live in more sustainable lifestyle, but it is great for people who live on a small city block to people with a few acres to spare. Another thing that I like about this book compared to some other books on the topic I have is how wonderfully presented it is, with big beautiful colour photographs, making it one of those books I love to flick through to get me inspired to get out in the vegie garden!

Awesome reading. Fantastc ideas from start to finish. Both practical and imaginative allows readers to take pieces of interest and go from there. Highly recommended.
