The book includes excellent material on design and how to consider all the elements (or layers) of the quilt. The authors offer tips on using fabrics in particular designs. I loved their tip for looking for fabric in your stash at an online retailer to see how the color looks with fabrics you are considering purchasing. The book includes complete instructions for making 10 quilts. What I also found valuable was the discussion on why particular fabric and quilting choices work with each quilt.

This is a gorgeous book that is full of traditional ideas that have been taken and turned into something a bit more modern.
The Authors use fabric and slight changes in design to make quilts that are appealing and original.
They quilts are all reasonably simple to make but they all look so effective and like they were much harder to make.
I love the idea of taking something old and shining it up just a little to bring it forward and I have so many fabrics in my stash that are just waiting to be used on patterns from this book.
