About the Author

Fleur Beale is a well-respected and widely-published author of children's books. Many of her books have been published overseas. She was born in Inglewood and after graduating from Victoria University became an English teacher. Having travelled widely, she now lives and works in Wellington. Her first Mallinson Rendel novel, Walking Lightly, was shortlisted in the 2005 New Zealand Post Book Awards for Children and Young Adults.
