A vary good book that offers a good insight into the means and methods of rammed earth construction. It is very well written and easy to read. The information is nicely condensed into smallish chapters that cover everything from history of rammed earth through to architectural considerations and various construction systems. There is one major drawback however. The graphic material is quite weak and there are no construction details to back-up the text and show how the systems actually work. The pictures are repetative and inadequate. Overall, good book and an interesting read, not a comprehensive guide to rammed earth construction though.
