I am a quilting Nana and I found Ricky Tims book brilliant. It has simple easily followable instructions and really the sky is the limit depending on the fabric used. The best quilt book I have read and used for a long long time. Generally I cannot follow instructions on quilts without getting myself into a "tangle" therefore I usually do Art Quilts where there are no right or wrongs. I found Ricky Tims book and ideas got me fired up again and I made my sister a beautiful quilt in this last week.

I purchased this book to get the instructions on how to make Ricky Tims quilts.
However, it not only tells you how to make the quilts, but is a very interesting read. It deals with his early life and his introduction to quilting, this was through an old sewing machine left after his grandmother passed away and her effects were distributed.
He thought he could make a shirt, but got distracted and made a quilt instead.
Well worth the purchase as I feel that I got two for the price of one, quilting patterns and a good tale!

sumptuous photos provide creative impetus. This technique looks so dramatic and complex eyt the technique is surprising straight forward. Makes use of the very popular batic type fabrics which I love but have never been able to find a use for before buying this book. Excellent advice fopr choosing colours. Scrumptious, for the beginner or those with more experience wanting to make something quite different and striking.
